Request statuses

TeamsPIM shows a request’s status in three places: the progress bar on Latest Requests, the Status badge in My Requests, and the cards in chat.

The progress bar has three steps.

Step What it can show
1 Submit — the request was made.
2 Pending Approval — waiting for an approver. Reviewed — an approver has decided. Canceled — you cancelled it. Timed out — nobody decided in time.
3 Granted — the role was given to you. Denied — an approver said no. Revoked — the role was granted but the active assignment no longer exists.

A granted request shows Revoked once its active assignment is gone — because you deactivated it, or because an administrator removed it.

Next to Granted, a countdown ring shows the time left:

Ring shows Meaning
“Not Started” You chose a start time that has not come yet.
Hours:minutes:seconds The role is active; this is the time left.
“Expired” The activation has ended.

These are the statuses PIM reports for a request. TeamsPIM shows them as they come from PIM.

Badge Meaning
Pending Approval Waiting for an approver. You can still Cancel it.
Granted The request was approved, or needed no approval.
Denied An approver denied the request.
Canceled The request was cancelled.
Timed Out Nobody decided before the approval window ran out.
Revoked The access was removed.
Failed PIM could not complete the request.
Pending Admin Decision PIM is still processing the request.
Pending Provisioning PIM is still processing the request.
Pending Approval Provisioning PIM is still processing the request.
Pending Schedule Creation PIM is still processing the request.
ScheduleCreated PIM has created the schedule for the request.
Provisioned PIM has applied the request.

Only Pending Approval requests can be cancelled. See Deactivate or cancel.

The cards in your chat with the TeamsPIM bot end in one of these states:

Card shows Meaning
“Pending Approval” Still waiting for an approver.
“Approved by” (name) and “Role is active” Approved; the role is active.
“Approved by” (name) and “Expired” Approved; the activation has since ended.
“Denied by” (name) Denied.
“Expired” The approval window ran out before anyone decided.
“The Request has been canceled” The requestor cancelled the request.
“Self-Activation role has been provisioned” The role needed no approval and is active.

How long a request can wait for approval is set by PIM, not by TeamsPIM.
