Notifications
TeamsPIM notifies you inside Microsoft Teams, in two ways:
- Cards in your chat with the TeamsPIM bot.
- Activity feed notifications in Teams.

| Approver | A new request needs your approval | An actionable card in your chat with the bot |
| Requestor | You create a request that needs approval | A card marked “My Request”, showing “Pending Approval” |
| Requestor | Your request is approved or denied | Your card updates, and the activity feed shows “Your ‘{role}’ request has been approved by {reviewer}” (or denied) |
| Requestor | Your role activates without approval | A card saying “Self-Activation role has been provisioned” |
| Requestor | 5 minutes before your activation ends | Activity feed: “Your PIM activation is about to expire” — “Your ‘{role}’ role expires in 5 minutes” |
| Approver | After you approve or deny | Activity feed: “Request has been successfully approved.” or “Request has been successfully denied.” |
In the table, {role} and {reviewer} stand for the role name and the approver’s name.
Teams only
Section titled “Teams only”TeamsPIM does not send email. All of its notifications appear in Teams.
Not getting notifications?
Section titled “Not getting notifications?”- Make sure you have a TeamsPIM licence. Approvers without one do not get cards.
- Make sure TeamsPIM is installed in your Teams. If your administrator assigned your licence, the app is usually installed for you; otherwise, install it from the Teams store.
- If you are an approver, check with your administrator that you are set as an approver in the role’s PIM settings in Entra.
