Additional directories
If your organisation has more than one Microsoft Entra tenant, you can add the others to your TeamsPIM subscription. Licensed users can then use Switch Directory in TeamsPIM to work in those directories, and you can manage Azure subscriptions in them on the Azure Resources page.
Limits and requirements
Section titled “Limits and requirements”- Up to 10 tenant IDs per subscription, including the subscription’s own tenant.
- Each tenant must grant TeamsPIM admin consent before it can be added. A Global Administrator of that tenant has to grant it.
- The subscription’s own tenant is listed as Subscription tenant and cannot be removed (“This subscription was set up for this tenant, so it cannot be removed.”).
Add a tenant
Section titled “Add a tenant”You need to be the purchaser or an administrator of the subscription.
- In the Customer Admin Portal, open Subscription Settings and choose the subscription in “Select a subscription”.
- In the Additional Tenant IDs card, select Add tenant. The “Add a tenant” dialog opens.
- Enter the tenant’s ID in “Tenant ID”.
- Get admin consent for that tenant. The dialog reads “A Global Administrator of this tenant must
grant TeamsPIM admin consent before it can be added. Open the consent page yourself, or send the
link to someone who can.”
- Select Open consent if you can grant consent in that tenant yourself.
- Select Copy link to send the consent link to a Global Administrator of that tenant.
- When consent has been granted, select Verify. The dialog shows “Admin consent verified.” If it shows “Admin consent has not been granted yet. Complete it, then press Verify.”, consent is not finished yet.
- Select Add.
To remove a tenant, use the remove button next to it in the list.
How users switch directory
Section titled “How users switch directory”Users switch from the TeamsPIM Dashboard tab: they select their name at the top and choose Switch Directory. See Switch directory.
Switching is available only when all three of these are true:
- The TeamsPIM subscription is active.
- The user has a TeamsPIM licence assigned.
- An administrator has added additional directories to that subscription, as above.
Otherwise the user sees “Switching directory is not set up”.
